Three Cheers for Not Giving a Damn

Try the newest book Turkey Broth for the Spirit: Just a Few Questions which contains many questions directly related to this blog in particular of God's treatment of His people The book may be found here:

With a God like Him, who needs enemies?

Look, God does not care. God does not care about you, your family, your community, your nation, your culture, or even this planet. Since God does not care about such things it follows out of necessity that God would also give a frog's fat tush about offering any kind of protection to anyone, regardless of whether or not such an individual believes in God to begin with.

Life is what it is, right? We are conceived, born, live a bit, and then die. Everyone dies eventually. Everyone. This fact along with the reality of people who die far too early in their lives, children being murdered, people starving people, people blowing each other up, babies born with severe maladies and deformities, and so on and so forth, such things are great indicators that some great, invisible, all-powerful divine entity (assuming there is such an entity) gives a good goddamn about anyone or anything. Come to think of it, maybe God's give a damn is busted...just like in that song by Jodee Messina where she more or less says that she would like to give a damn but her give-a-damn is busted.

I suppose one of the biggest issues I have with the ridiculous Christian assertion that God cares for and protects Man are some of the verses in the Bible itself, terrible verses of God commanding genocide, allowing rape and incest, commanding burglary, and time after time and again exhibiting an extreme disregard and disrespect for human life. God is a horrible being in every way imaginable, especially when it comes to rendering punishment which more often than not punishes EVERYONE and not just the individual who does something displeasing to God.

Let's take a peek at some videos, shall we?

Who could have ever guessed that God gives so much consideration to politics and policy? A bigger question is why would God remove protection from people who are not even the ones who are FOR abortion? What is the deal with punishing everyone? Why would this great and all-powerful divine being who cares so very much for all of humanity and this nation punish the entire nation by removing His protection? Not all of the freaking people here agree with abortion, so why should their protection be removed? Why would they have to pay for someone else's terrible deed or someone else's disobedience toward God??
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds9C6c94cTM

This guy is right. Why would some kids be protected by God and some not be protected?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=062dC8hPDP4

Well, this would be a great way to prove God exists, right? I mean, if you believe in Him then according to His word you can drink poison and pick up snakes and He will rescue/be with you, correct? So DO IT, oh ye believers. Do it. Drink some arsenic or hollyhock or pick up a viper or rattlesnake. You could prove God with one swoop. But the catch is that ALL who drink the poison and pick up the snakes have to be saved. There can be none of this God saving these five or six or seven people and letting another five or six people die from the snake's venom or of the arsenic sandwich they ingested.

What have we here but some fine examples of God being protective of His believers/people. NICE.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m12mZiiaWuw

Ohhhh yeahhhh. We are here in this mega gargantuan universe where for some reason or other a great God cares specifically for humankind...screw all other planets and whatever life may be upon them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lR_BAxFozAw

I like this video because, simply put, it is beautiful. Just...beautiful. Yet, God (at least the God of religion) has dick to do with anything pertaining to this beauty. Beauty exists outside of religion. In fact, I would say that in many cases religion has worked purposely and feverishly to destroy many of the things and people around us that are beautiful. "God doesn't make mistakes" sounds nice, but in reality it is nothing more than the staunchly religious trying to explain away the idea that if God was so ever loving perfect babies would not be born with Down's. It is just another way to explain away the utter imperfection and incompetence of God Almighty.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrH43xiFpPE

This is excellent!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuRDJTWHnlo

Sooooo...when people don't get into trouble for the bad things they do it is simply God being gracious? Huh. Interesting. I would have thought it had nothing to do with grace and everything to do with having an imbalanced nature and process of dealing with the consequences of actions that are frowned upon either by God or men. Well, that or God does not give a damn.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss8L9yA3zl0

Oh no no no. No. You cannot try to answer this question by trying to say there is a difference between God before He became Jesus and the God of the New Testament. Ooohhhhhhh no! Your own damn Bible says God is the same today as He was yesterday and evermore. Your own Bible says God is unchanging and has always existed. Remember in Genesis when God creates Man, God says, "Let US make man in our image and after our likeness." Thus are the holes poked into your answer. All of the expressions of God always existed and so the idea that the so-called incarnation of God to Man through Jesus Christ is what changed things up just will not wash.

Preaching the Ridiculous Ideas of the Bible

The newest book Turkey Broth for the Spirit: Just a Few Questions presents questions directed at the Pentateuch of Moses.

Read Ester Lighthorse's newest book!

Critical Thinking Demands Honest Review of Religion

Are all of the ideas and edicts and stories and similes and metaphors of the Bible wrong? Is there anything of value to be found within the Bible itself (I do not mean Christianity but the Bible itself)? Are there ridiculous claims, statements, and rules in the Bible that are either harmful or make no sense?

No, not all of what can be found in the Bible is wrong. But before any Christian reading this begins to toot their little horn of religion and hold my statement up as an admission of the Bible's truth, let me make it clear that there is plenty that is wrong and totally fucked up in the Bible. Yes, there are good things in the Bible. Yes, there are many ridiculous statements and claims uttered in the Bible.

Now, I have plenty of blogs discussing the stupidity of religion. What I am talking about is taking a short moment to discuss some good things that are found in the Bible. Here are a few verses:

A verse that immediately pops into mind is I Corinthians 13:4, "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant."

Song of Solomon 8:7 says, "Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one's house for love, it would be utterly scorned."

Proverbs 15:13 says, "A merry heart is just like medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones."

James 3:18 says, "Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness."

Are there other examples of good things to be found in the Bible? Oh yes. There is no need to list them all here, and the purpose for citing a few verses is to establish that the Bible DOES have SOME good things in it.

Now, I have conversed with many people who try very hard to use the good things in the Bible to validate the stupid or bad crap in the Bible. The most commonly posed question to me is, if I admit that what the Bible has to say about Love is in fact the truth, how can I then turn around and say that the Bible is NOT truth in totality?

Well, the Bible isn't truth in totality by any means. Here are some examples of what is wrong with some of the claims/teachings/rules that are found in the Bible.

This clip is excellent truth and satire.

Listen to to the so-called evidence Strobel cites from the Bible. It makes no goddamn sense. None at all. His 'proof' is found in Jesus claiming to be the Son of God (and remember that not just anybody can claim to be the Son of God) and in the emptiness of Jesus' tomb after Jesus had resurrected, I mean...a body SHOULD be in the tomb in which it was placed, right? But it was EMPTY. Plus, we have WITNESSES who were there at the tomb and who can prove this story; never mind that these witnesses have been dead about two thousand years and thus cannot be reached for comment in regards to Strobel's claim.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37vZGS_F5yc

This guy does a pretty good job of conveying how Christianity/Bible-based faiths are founded on some of the most terrible things/situations. He talks about the recent television program called "The Bible" and breaks down the presented material from that show into a hilarious explanation of its errors.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7ND_i-aHxg

This is absolutely outstanding in its assertion that Christianity has brainwashed youth.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7aza7SktV0

Hell, no. There should not be prayer in ANY political setting. There is a lady in this clip who says that prayer should stay and that if people are bothered by it they should just shut their mouth for a few minutes out of respect for those who believe in and love God. Interesting. She does not seem to have any clue whatsoever that those who do not believe in God and who do not want to pray also have rights. You want to pray before a political meeting, fine. Meet somewhere with your pals beforehand and pray then; why don't you show respect for those who do not wish to be part of your delusion OR your apparent desire to have your faith affect matters of government.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG7ZCHTqavI

Many people who are Christian are in fact stupid and delusional by virtue of believing their faith to be  THE truth no matter how much science can explain using logic, and no matter how Christianity and the Bible are completely devoid of what truth and proof are. And since when did the number of people believing the horseshit of the Bible lend any kind of credibility to the same? Christians are confusing mass delusion with ideals of strength in numbers. Epic fail.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdkHBy4ifYU

Exactly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1JIKOMQV5A

Well, three cheers for spiritual superiority. I always found it interesting that many believers, when ridiculed for their persistent delusions, interpret the ridicule as a sure sign, a validating factor as to the truth of the Bible and as proof of the non-Christians' guilt of sin.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1s5IVdFVQ0

Jesus never existed. Never. Well, maybe he did in the foggy minds of Christians. When you go and try to explain this to a believer one of their most common responses is that Satan and all those who do not believe in the God of the Bible have conspired to remove the proof of Jesus from the pages of history.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTqyocFOMXE

This is excellent!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6LAKleHUr8

Hhhaaaha!!! Hahha! The absurdities of Bible stories and the persistence of people believing in them as actual truth takes stupid to an entirely new level.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUOg5F886xw

Geeze. People WANT this bullshit taught in school. Yikes. Tell you what, if you want your children to believe this poppycock put them in a private school. Other than that, keep this crap out of the public school system. And to you Christians out there in salvation la-la land, stop freaking pretending that your faith is being outlawed or that you are being discriminated against or that your rights are being trampled. It is actually the other way around.

Christians are the ones stomping on the rights of others. They are so used to being in control for so long that they have come to believe that smothering everyone around them with their rubbish really IS their right. Now, as this control begins slipping the only defense believers have is to claim their rights are being taken away.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTRn28iZD_g

Exactly! The only reason many non-believers give a damn about what believers believe is that such beliefs often affect the non-believers.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlXkjrluq_4

An all-knowing, all-powerful God would not need help to spread His message.

God Speaks to Us

Why Does God Only Speak to Those Who Believe in Him?

God only speaks to His own He-Who-Has-Ears-To-Hear-Let-Him-Hear people. Convenient, wouldn't you say?

This video here is simply excellent. This gentleman is very clear and concise in his descriptions of situations as well as his interpretations of such. I agree with him that many Christians find it absolutely hard to believe that someone can believe in God with all of their heart as a child and then grow up to think and believe differently. It is very much the same situation for me. I grew up believing in God and everything that the Bible has to say about salvation and heaven and hell. For years I thought all of the people who did not believe the same as I did were in fact going to burn in hell. Thank goodness I do not believe such bullshit any more.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJSqmGvX_fo

Being able to hear God speak to you seems to be a requirement for every Christian. Never mind that this is a lunatic idea, but do these same people think that their belief that God speaks to them is any more believeable than your standard belief in magic or sorcery or anything of the like? The belief that God or any proposed divine being would go out of their way to tell puny and mistake-riddled human beings to do something when the divine being could simply do it for themselves...and without mistake...is preposterous.

Ahhh, the things people think they are being told by God, or by people claiming to be speaking for God.

God does not freaking speak to anyone because God does not exist. What you DO have is a bunch of people claiming to be speaking for God Who is all-powerful and omnicient, but Who decides it would be better to speak to a handful of people and then tell those people to tell the world what God told them. You would think that an all-powerful being would have the gumption to speak to everyone all at once instead of whispering to a few people who either get what God is saying ALL WRONG or who get killed or harassed for claiming God is speaking to them in the first place.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zA08uiiHkY

Isn't it lovely how this person or that person claims to be speaking for God while at the same time claiming that OTHERS who claim to be speaking for God are not properly discerning the voice of God speaking to them? RRRIIIIGGGGGHHHHT.

People Who Profess to Speak With God

Forget Tune In Tokyo:
Tune in God

For those who claim to be hearing the voice of God or Jesus or whatever deity it is they are claiming is whispering sweet nothings in their spiritual ears, maybe it is not so much that they are hearing the voice of the divine as it is they are hearing something they WANT to hear. They want to feel special and want to be pleasing to God and will jump at any chance to be spoken to by the Almighty God...even if it means they are hearing something that exists nowhere save for their own mind. And you know what else?

If God is omni-present why doesn't He just speak to everyone all at once? And DON'T give me that, "Well, people don't always listen to when God talks," because that will not work. You say your God is all powerful and that includes making people listen.

And don't try to pull the 'free will' card and say that God speaks and then gives people the choice of whether or not to listen. This plainly is NOT true as is evidenced by the Lord God PURPOSELY hardening the heart of Pharaoh so that the Children of Israel would not be allowed to leave. We all know what happened there...so you can't lie about it. How do you know your God (a supposedly JUST God) is not purposely hardening the hearts of people now? Hummm? How do you know whether or not your God is leading b-zillions of people to a fiery end that is the equivalent of the chariots of the Pharaoh's army being swallowed by the Red Sea...on purpose?

I wanted to add this video to this post because I really wanted to say something about what this man has to say, not necessarily because he says that God or Jesus speak to him (a claim he never makes in the video and I am not claiming he did, so back off) but because he says that there are people that get a bit un-comfy when he mentions the name of Jesus. I think his analysis of why people seem un-comfy when Jesus is mentioned is incorrect.

This man makes the statements that, one, people are not bothered by talking about God because God is impersonal, and two, people ARE bothered about talking about Jesus because talking about Jesus is just a bit too personal. While this may be the case for SOME people it is certainly not the case for all people. I will use myself as an example.

I find it is far easier to speak with people who refer to the Almighty God of the Holy Bible as "God" and who then gradually move into talking about Jesus. I have many friends who are Christian and I often participate in religious discourse with some of them; civilized conversation that is. We do not yell or shout or try to speak over one another. There is never a part of the conversation where I am told I am going to hell, or where I tell them they have taken spiritual delusion to heights heretofore unexplored.

Conversely, I also have some friends with whom I refrain from speaking about Jesus and that friggin' cross. The moment Jesus is mentioned, accompanied by obvious intent to drag me into the demented world of What-I-Believe-Is-Better-Than-What-You-Believe, I walk away.

However, my personal reasoning for this is nowhere near what the man in this video thinks. When someone immediately begins their religious conversation (or attack in some cases) using the name "Jesus" that is a sure sign to me that absolutely NOTHING I have to say will be considered or even remotely regarded as worthy of consideration.

In my personal experience many of the people who immediately start slinging the name of Jesus around are the ones who give a good goddamn about any other belief or opinion other than their own. Thus, conversation with them is often a futile exercise in discourse, a terribly wasted effort.

Usually within the first six words of my response ("I do not believe in Jesus.") to their initial question (usually something along the lines of, "May I share with you the 'good news' of Jesus?") the ill-fated conversation that hasn't even really been birthed from the spiritual womb yet is aborted by the well-meaning, over-zealous Christian (who sometimes just happens to be a friend or acquaintance) interrupting my answer with, "But, aren't you concerned that you are going to hell?"

I used to try to continue such conversations and try to find a way to convey that it is okay for them to believe they way they do. It is also okay for me to disagree with Christianity and the idea that there is an all-powerful deity absolutely in charge of and controlling of everything. My opposing view and patterns of thinking on the subjects of Christianity and God and Jesus do not make me evil or liable to their God, Holy Bible, rules and edicts, or prescribed fiery consequences for NOT believing the same way.

At least with many of the people who start off the conversation using the name "God" (usually in the form of a series of questions similar to, "You don't believe in God? Why? May I tell you about Him?") there tends to be a willingness to at least lean toward agreement that there just may be another way to think or believe. Of course, this 'leaning' toward agreement that there may be other ways to believe is given under great spiritual duress, often nearly entirely revoked with the believer's final, parting comment of, "But what if you're wrong?"

I can deal with being told I may be wrong or AM wrong. What I detest is trying to dicker with someone, who, immediately after me telling them I don't believe in Jesus, embarks on some half-ass crusade to "open my eyes" and turn my heart to Jesus by informing me how sinful I am.

Some of the alleged sins that have been pointed out to me over the years include my make-up, my choice of clothing, my profession (job wise, not faith wise), my profession (faith wise, not job wise), my education, my divorce, and the music I listen to. Many, and thankfully not ALL, of those representatives and spiritual 'yes men' of the God of infallible and enduring love who become aware of the fact I am lesbian (either by my own admission or that of someone else) go entirely bananas and immediately foam at the spiritual mouth. A few have even literally started praying over me or for me.

That is why many people walk away when Jesus is mentioned. Many people tire quickly of listening to such bullshit. Seriously. That is what has happened to me. I got tired of listening to the hen pecking and the attempted bullying and being talked over.

Most of all, I was tired of many of these followers of the God of Endless Love responding to me with hatred, ill-placed superiority, aggression, jeers, and the most delusional sense of pride.

So YOU might think God or Jesus talk to you through dreams or visions or mental processes or your spirit or soul. Big damn deal. Deanna Laney, Dora Tejada, LaShaun Harris, Dana Hooper, and Dena Schlosser all thought they were doing what God told them when they killed their kids.

Houston, we have a mental problem.

No, God DOES NOT speak through people BUT fear does.

Chuck Missler

Taking Christianity to a Whole New Level of Idiocy

Chuck Missler is an evangelist who would have you believe some of the damnedest things you have ever heard. I think that as we move further along in time/existence that more and more of the ardent religious folk of the universe will do everything in their power to try to incorporate technology and human behaviors and governmental practices into their spiritual beliefs in an effort to prove the existence of their defective deity and that deity's equally defective plans for humankind.

So, Chuck Missler thinks that Jesus gave the disciples some sort of 'briefing' as to when He would be returning. Please. If it was such a briefing of necessary info on Jesus returning then there would not be so many freaking people with so many different ideas of when Senor Jesus is due to return.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mMkuR6X5Q

Here, Mr. Missler would like for you to believe that the likelihood of one man fulfilling all of these amazing and astounding prophecies is in an area of mathematics simply out of this world. This is a false argument. First of all, not one thing about these so-called prophecies can be shown as fact. Prophecies are guesses, and when what is prophesied actually happens out of pure coincidence that is not confirmation of the truth of the prophecy or of the truth of the prophesier.

Second, people throughout all of history have been prophesying all sorts of crap for ages; doing such is simply part of the human condition and the deep desire to know what is going to happen in the future. But the really crazy part is if people really want to know what is going to happen all they really need to do is look into recorded history. People are creatures of habit. Whatever people are doing now you go to the past and find out where people were doing the same thing or something very similar. Then study that and you will have your answer of what is going to happen. It is not a difficult concept to grasp.

Lastly, Mr. Missler's mathematical formulas for his prophecy mumbo-jumbo mean absolutely squat since he is talking about the make-believe. Forget what the odds are that some guy will fulfill your prophecy. Instead, consider what the odds are that your religion is over-the-top delusion that has unfortunately become truth for many unsuspecting and ignorant individuals and groups yearning for deeper understanding of everything that life is. It is okay to want to understand life more. It is not okay to take any old explanation that comes along that claims to have all of your answers, actually all of THE answers to everything, an explanation that basically says you can have all of the answers to life that you seek...if only you believe THIS way. That is crap.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkBl4CRAIEQ

This is interesting. Here you are asked to consider UFOs, what they are, where they are from, and what their purpose is. You are also asked to consider what the Bible has to say about UFOs. Yep. You read that correctly. Missler wants for you to consider what the Bible has to say about UFOs. Well, three cheers for trying to garner more lost souls for Christianity by trying to include alien lore with religion.

Do I think UFOs are real? Do I think there is intelligent life in the universe besides man? Yes. I think the odds for that are heavily in favor of there being other intelligent life. It only makes sense that with BILLIONS of galaxies in the universe there would be other intelligent life. What I DO NOT believe is that aliens are some kind of demon race hellbent on deceiving mankind and thwarting the plans of the Heavenly Father. This particular sermon/speech by Missler has several parts to it, so if you wish to view them simply click on the links provided by YouTube after you watch this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8H8YS4wXDU

I want to know how people can believe this crap? God is going to use strange demonic creatures in order to draw the world into a war with God that the world cannot possibly win? Ooooo-kay. Uhmmm...I have just a few issues with this ludicrous sounding story. One, while I do think there is intelligent life in the universe other than man I have not yet personally met such a being in such a way that would make me think that they are demonic or wicked or against God or whatever. Have you met one, Mr. Missler? How do you know they are demonic? Whose words are you taking as total truth in this matter? Do you always believe everything people tell you about others without trying to ascertain for yourself another's character or intent?

Two, you say that to war against God is crazy and impossible to end in any other way than victory for God. Then you say GOD is going to use these UFO demons of yours to draw the world into conflict with God. Which is it? Are others gathering to war against God or is God Himself simply manipulating the whole entire thing in order to make Himself look like a big, bad victorious deity?

Lastly, did you dig into the Bible and find that verse you cite as back-up to your crazy claims, or did someone else bring that to you? I am curious as to how you chose to use such a verse. Of course, if people try hard enough and believe strong enough they can put just about any meaning they want to just about any verse in the Bible.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrQ6FdJu8XY

According to Wikipedia, Socialism is, "...an economic system that is characterized by social ownership of the means of production and co-operative management of the economy." Where Mr. Missler gets his definition of the same is hard to say. I would guess that part of it is a natural proclivity of many Christians (not all of them, so if you are offended by this statement don't be) to say absolutely anything in an effort to try to prove their faith and their God. Of course, if such things could ever be proved they would not be faith, would they?

Here in this video Missler talks about how the loss of property can be linked directly with loss of liberty. I would say there is value in that statement. Then Missler says something along the lines of the Bible being pro-family and pro-liberty and all that horseshit. I would say there is NO VALUE in that statement. I think there are plenty of verses in the Old Testament in particular that quite clearly depict the wickedness of God as He instructs His chosen people to TAKE the property of others, take the liberty of others, and even take the lives of others.

Socialism may be a terrible form of government, but I do not see the tyrannical tendencies of the Christian God and His spiritual/physical/mental dictatorship as being any better.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dj0lp9u-Seg

Okay, what is the deal with Christianity being to goddamn obsessed with money? One of their favorite subjects/topics when trying to convert people or when trying to scare the begeesus out of people who already believe in God, is to tell people that in order to gain 'control' of everyone (in particular in order to make life more difficult for Believers) the government is purposely taking control of all the finances of everyone, everywhere.

My question for Christians is why the hell should you care about what happens to the money? If you already believe it to be true, if you already have it set in your heart that the government is going to use money to control Believers in an effort to thwart God, if you already hold it to be true that the love of money is the root of all evil why don't you let the subject be? Why should money matter to you? Why do you get so uppity and so worried every time you think something funny is happening with the money we use?

So we are headed to a cashless society. Big damn deal. That is a good thing. Consider how much paper will be saved and how much less likely it will be that people will lose their money. And don't even try to say that a cashless society will be used by the government to manipulate what money is in your bank account. Tell you what, the only things that will manipulate the money in your account is whether or not you work and whether or not you pay your taxes and whether or not you pay your bills. Will there be mistakes? Of course there will be. I have had mistakes with my own banking before, geeze. It is not something so uncommon.

Besides, isn't one of the signs of your fairy tale deliverer returning supposed to be a move toward a cashless society? You should be jumping for joy instead of acting so goddamn afraid.

This is pure stupidity. Here Missler wants you to believe that the Bible is a hologram that can only be seen properly by the light cast by the Holy Spirit and not by any other light. This is so goddamn stupid and a blatant twisting of scientific facts and theories and premises that I am shocked.

Kent Hovind

Is the doctor in?

Kent Hovind is an interesting fellow. According to some of the offered information in regards to this man he is Dr. Kent Hovind...the doctorate being a PhD and not a medical degree. However, if you take the time to peruse Hovind's educational background you might be surprised to discover that his claims of having earned a PhD are questionable indeed.

Go to this site and really look at what it says in regards to Mr. Hovind's PhD dissertation:

In the beginning of this video Kent Hovind tries desperately to show how people can indeed live to the ages claimed in the Bible, such as Methuselah being 969 years-old when he died. Then he takes an immediate and sudden left turn when he starts talking about how humans and dinosaurs coexisted. The so-called facts that Hovind states are terrible distortions of tidbits of truth here and there, and Hovind shows no shame in making these absurd claims.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu69q9YIEkA

I love the claim that Hovind makes in this video that believers of the Bible have always known that the earth is round. I suppose he forgot that the church leaders and founders of old thought the world was flat. Those church leaders during Galileo's time very ardently believed that the earth was the center of the universe; of course, now we know that is not true. Anyways, here we run into the same problem of Hovind spewing ridiculous information as though it were indeed the truth he so desperately wants it to be.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=UVxU-MxrJZQ

Don't you just love the purposeful misrepresentation of fact? This guy must have been a politician in a past life.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSd1D6i8RDQ

Here Hovind tries to use literal mythology as proof of his assertion that dragons did/still do exist. This is such a ridiculous assertion that I am surprised that people actually buy into the bullshit Hovind regurgitates. There is a part in this video that discusses the Ica Stones being frauds, yet Hovind continues to use these fraudulent artifacts as proof for his crackpot theories. Nice.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMvsWO3AXis

This video is curious as it opens with some horseshit about eating the little seeds in the pit of a peach. I don't give a rat's ass what this Hovind guy says, I would never eat the seed. I suggest that you DO NOT eat the seed as Hovind suggests. The seeds are not good for you no matter how many times Doctor Hovind asserts that eating the seeds prevents cancer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvODdtQgUsY

The gentleman in this video comes across as a tad strange, but I think what he has to say is valid and appropriate in response to Kent Hovind. He very easily points out the problems in Hovind's theories, especially when it comes to light and time and how such function within the universe.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjhibQTaNa4

Hovind's ideas in regards to how the starts have formed and to what Boyle's Law applies are totally jacked up. Hovind does not even try to give explanations as to why a law that applies in a closed system would apply in other systems. He just simply takes the law and says that it applies.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llohKXtGhmw

The man in this video is correct...Hovind must assert that all of these scientists in astronomy and cosmology and related subjects are all wrong, because if anything they have to say is correct then Hovind's retarded theories on a young earth have nothing left to do but languish in the shame of their stupidity.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcc-NbF-3hw

Yes...the idea that light and the stars are billions of years old is kryptonite to creationist theories. I love the rooster crowing in the background of this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyM7B9vVxy4

Hah! Listen to how Hovind simply cannot seem to answer the goddamn questions straight up. Not only does Hovind think that there is some grand layer of fossils that is proof for the Great Flood of Noah, but he would also have you believe that nearly every branch of science was begun by creationists. Wow.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIgWPwVfJX0

Here Hovind has the audacity to say that there are many people who believe things about the Bible without actually studying and researching these things before actually believing them. Uhmmm...I hate to break it to you Mr. Hovind, but that is totally the pot calling the kettle black.

What is Wrong with these People?

Sometimes You Know They are a Nut

Powers of darkness are over the nations? Powers of darkness are being dethroned? What the hell is this lady talking about? Darkness being pierced and the heavens being ripped? Lady...get off of the decaf...seriously. The darkness of humanism and atheism? What?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMBltHILNBI&list=PL9DCCD58C2CDE9C20

So this charlatan picked up a lady's foot that had been severed by being run over by a car and restored it?

Wow! Some people are so freaking far out there that you just have to listen to them out of pure morbid curiosity. This guy goes from lamb and pussy cat to weirdo in about minus three seconds. NICE. Animals can be demon possessed too, huh? That might explain these two little crazy orange kitties we had when we were kids. I swear those cats WERE possessed.

HHHaaahAAHAA!!!! Oh Jesus, this is good stuff!

Holy shit! Listen to what this guy says about the new flag for the Obama campaign. What is he talking about streaks of blood and a Satanic rendering of the American flag? The Illuminati and the All-Seeing Eye? 666? Dude, you are drinking Draino and living under power lines.

Oh suuuuurrrreeeee. Someone's child dies and you JUST NOW raised them from the dead. And of course you saw something like that happen in Pakistan and not the United States, right? Because if something like that really and truly happened here that would be ALL OVER the news and you would have converts galore. But NO. You don't, do ya? Because you are freaking fake.

So, are these people just bored and have nothing better to do than get themselves worked up into thinking they are experiencing some divine revelation or expression of divine power? What the hell?

This woman has so many screws loose I am surprised she is still walking around in one piece. And NO. Your Creator does NOT have any right whatsoever to run this government or anything even remotely related to it. And while much of our laws DO come from English common law that had NOTHING to do with the goddamn Bible, so shut your lying trap.

Haahaaaha!!! This is hilariously stupid. Oh, geeze! Because of President Clinton kids started having oral sex parties? You are seriously twisted.

What in the world is going on in this video here? Indigestion? Delusion? Spiritual poisoning? All of the above? Is he trying to talk or trying to have a bowel movement?

Oh yes. Yes. Eventually I will have a lovely blog on our psychopathic pal Bryan Fischer. This guy is too good to pass up doing a blog on. He is like an especially delusional version of Rush Limbaugh...only he is about a hundred and fifty pounds lighter.

Oh look, you can watch the possession of children by religion as it actually happens. So sad.

God: Charlatan and Abuser of Faith and Love

Well, I'll be!! God does the atheists and all other non-believers a favor by disproving...Himself.

I subscribe to several Christian blogs in an effort to better understand the half baked ideologies of any faith founded on the Bible. One of the messages that was sent to me contained a link that tried to assert/prove that while love conquers all...love also hates. I clicked on the article and read the entire thing, and then read it again. Here is the link to the article:

The article is truly appalling as it shamelessly presents the idea that love and God both hate. The way this article tried to validate the emotion of hate as a sign of love is truly indifferent to the reality of love.
"Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit."
-Peter Ustinov-

The manner in which the author tries to validate her claim is perverse and offensive to everything that comprises what love is. In short, the author points out a verse in the Bible that says God is love, but then completely turns around and says that since God hates, then out of necessity love also hates.
"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage."
-Lao Tzu-

Quoting the verse Psalms 11:5 which says, "The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, He hates with a passion," the author seemingly neglects the many Bible verses that proclaim God as love. Following that is the neglect to recall that love is supposed to be all-powerful, THE most powerful force in the universe since God is, after all, love. And isn't God enduring? And isn't love patient and kind and everlasting and faithful and persevering and unlimited, and so on and so forth?
"It is love, not reason, that is stronger than death."
-Thomas Mann-

Nothing can ever degrade, damage, harm, hurt, modify, mutate, stunt, defy, insult, or even diminish love. Love is THAT powerful. Love is supposed to be THE superseding force EVER. So, considering that I want to know how the author of this article came to the screwy conclusion that love hates. I don't want to hear any bullshit about the semantics of some twisted verse out of the Bible either. Give me a reason based validation.
"A fool in love makes no sense to me. I only think you are a fool if you do not love."
-Anonymous-

The idea that love would falter or change in its position or change its core character of solid and pure forgiveness is nothing short of stupidity. Even better is the fact that this claim disproves God. Hah! God is love and love is God. God is eternal and so love is eternal. There are no limits on God. There are no limits on love. Listen closely all ye of twisted faith. Hate is a LIMITING factor that cannot even touch love with a ten foot pole. You can't say God is love and love is God and that both are eternal...and then turn right back around and claim hatred. What is wrong with you? When you do that you are admitting God does not exist. If love does not exist God does not exist. If hate is manifest (in deed or thought or action) then clearly love does not exist. You cannot have it both ways. God either is or is not everlasting love. There are no timeouts. There are no vacations. There are no variations.
"If you would be loved, love and be lovable."
-Benjamin Franklin-

Another part in this article tries to offer as evidence Old Testament verses that note God hates things such as robbery and wrongdoing, yada yada, plucka plucka. But this is also a stupid approach because God sure as hell did a lot of robbing and wrongdoing in the Old Testament. What did the children of Israel do as they left Egypt after the ten plagues? Why, God instructed them and allowed them to plunder the Egyptians. What they took from the Egyptians did not belong to the Israelites...but remember GOD allowed them to do this so it must be okay, right?

What about the so-called promised land of God's chosen people? Those lands already had people on them but God took it and 'gave' it to His people. And what about what God did to Job? The list goes on and on and on with example after example of this infallible God of love acting in a very hateful manner just to get His way or to get revenge. So, you do see where I am going with this, correct? God hates wrongdoing. Robbery and murder and all such things are wrong deeds to do. God has committed robbery and murder. God must then hate Himself.
"A loving heart is the truest wisdom."
-Charles Dickens-

I read the quote below and was struck with the reality and fierceness of hate within religion. Christianity is the hypocrite of hypocrites. There is no message of love to be found in this demented God and His abused Son. This can be easily proven just by considering the vile behaviors of some people professing to be Christian. Actually, like the person who wrote the article I am bitching about here. Looking for a loophole, a reason, anything that will serve the purposes of religion.
"We never know we are beings till we love. And then it is we know the powers and potentiality of human existence."
-Jean Toomer-

What is interesting is that with the absolute terrible character and behavior in the Bible on the part of God, Christians are in a way forced to make up some bullshit exception that will allow hate into the shepherd's flock. Why? Because the stupid bastards must explain away the cruelty, malevolence, crookedness, evilness, and hideousness of God's character, they HAVE to make an excuse for God.
"Whoso loves believes the impossible."
-Elizabeth Barrett Browning-

Christianity is well known for its repeated assertions that God and the Bible and Jesus all say that there is no hope for mankind, that man is only good for fighting and killing, that the only cure for man is to initiate global disasters, heinous crimes against humanity, and a mega war that will eventually culminate with Jesus bursting into the picture riding on a white horse with an insanely large army of angels all set to destroy absolutely everything. And that is how you know that God does not exist.

God is supposed to have known everything even BEFORE He supposedly created everything. That being the case He would have known how this grand plan of His would end and out of love for man would do something about it. Out of sheer necessity God would have been required to behave and act and command lovingly. He completely FAILS to reconcile love with mankind, instead opting for untold violence and destruction. Such actions are devoid of love. If there is a void due to a lack of love...there is even a bigger void than that since God doesn't exist. And you DO realize that love CAN exist without God (and it DOES) but God CANNOT exist outside of love, right?
"Love is the only sane and satisfactory answer to the problem of human existence."
-Erich Fromm-

John Benefiel

Is This Guy For Real?

Sooooo...this voon-der-bar man of God wants you to believe that the Statue of Liberty is symbolic of a demon (or is it demoness) and NOT symbolic of LIBERTY. Uhmmm...somehow I get the feeling there is a huge percentage of the 300 million plus population of the United States that would heartily disagree. I am one of them. For me, that Statue of Liberty in the harbor in New York is symbolic of something amazing and special and cherished in this nation...LIBERTY...and has absolutely dick to do with anykind of demonology. But if Mr. Benefiel wishes to voice his opinion of what it stands for that is his LIBERTY. He really should remember that. I am one of the many who have fought for and maintained that liberty. Don't crap on that, Mr. Benefiel. Don't you dare. This country has far more to do with LIBERTY than your God.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nd74y4hvdhs

Okayyyy...you are not against homosexuals BUT you are against homosexuality. You DO see the problem with that statement, right? And what the hell are you talking about homosexuality being a great way to control the population? Homosexuality is a plot by the Illuminati to control the population and get rid of folks like you? Say WHAT?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDDKdYUkF64

Oh my dear Lord! This is hilariously wonderful!! Buddy...what the hell are you smoking? TELL ME!! I want to be sure to AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdA4xfjx_gg

You and a group of fellow nut-jobs went to the Lincoln Memorial to issue a Baal Divorce Decree? Haahahahhaaa!!! Sure. And Margret Thatcher went to Parliament to issue a Decree Repealing the United States Declaration of Independence. Then...in an act of magic (and it should be defined as such considering the lunacy of your claim) an earthquake was a signal of an answer to your problems? You are a psychopath, Mr. Benefiel. Whatever, man. Whatever. You are obviously lost deep...DEEP in your special world of religion. You and your mentally suffering sheep enjoy your delusions by yourselves.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aLj0dx6jD4

So, you are saying that under certain circumstances a demon named Baal may have a LEGAL RIGHT to operate in someone's life? Hah!! Your delusions just keep stacking higher and higher. Come ON! Do you  know how goddamn stupid and ridiculous you sound? Oh, that is right...you don't care because you are doing GOD'S work. Whatever. Once again, whatever. Don't lose that confidence because you will need it to carry you through your life as you wait for the demented predictions of your faith and your Bible to actually happen. Oh, and they won't. I think you are looney, but I don't want you caught unawares.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFAhDLBUqNM

The Native Americans and their revival is key to your God doing what? Where the hell are you getting this information? Who is magically interpreting these decrees to you? What is wrong with you? I grew up totally steeped in Christianity and never once did we ever learn anything having anything to do with Christianity and the Native Americans with the exception of the ridiculous belief in MANIFEST DESTINY which by the way allowed for the decimation of Native lands and people and culture. I am Native American and I can tell you FOR SURE that I want absolutely NOTHING to do with your God or you or your Bible. Stuff it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT0ekWNUjL8

What is it with this seriously stupid idea that in order to have real, true forgiveness...something must die. Not only that...but whatever dies...there must be a smattering of the blood. Oh, and it must be the blood of the innocent. Yep. That is how all of humanity is saved from all the wickedness in the universe...KILL SOMETHING INNOCENT and sprinkle its blood hither and thither. Retarded.

John Hagee: Can't Keep His Trap from Saying Stupid Shit

This is a Man of God?

Oh, how nice. Hagee is praying that God give the President the wisdom of Solomon as he (the President) leads the nation into war. Lovely.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8sDDbDxFmY

What Hagee neglects to tell you in this nifty little clip is that Lincoln signed TWO requested national days of prayer and fasting, one signed on August 12, 1861, and one signed on March 30, 1863. The second resolution for a proclamation of prayer and fasting was originally introduced by Senator James Harlan of Iowa on March 2, adopted on March 3, and signed by Lincoln on March 30. Hagee should have mentioned that Senator Harlan's daughter married President Lincoln's son, Robert. Oh, and he probably should have mentioned that the American Civil War ended in 1865...which makes Hagee's claim of things 'suddenly' turning around for the Union total bullshit.
But what I think is particularly interesting is what Hagee left out about the first national day of prayer that Lincoln signed into effect 1861. Read it, and in the first paragraph you will see that it was a committee of both Houses of Congress that REQUESTED that the President recommend a day of "public humiliation, prayer and fasting" that would be observed by those with "religious solemnities." There is a lot more to be read on both documents and hopefully you will read them both here: http://sdfa.org/lincoln_a.htm
Please pay close attention to the language in both of the documents signed by President Lincoln and keep in mind that it is HIGHLY LIKELY that since BOTH resolutions were requested OF President Lincoln and not initiated by him that he did not write the bodies of the resolutions themselves, but only affixed his name at the end. Of course, I am very sure Hagee and loads of other psychopathic evangelicals would scream differently.
But, even that doesn't matter because the idea that God intervened because of prayer and fasting is hilariously stupid, right? Unless it is God's personal policy to totally ignore the first day of the fasting and beseeching prayers of the Union, totally ignore the second day of the same as well, allow hundreds of thousands of soldiers to die horribly, and allow the areas affected by the war to be torn to shreds (literally). I suppose it COULD be God's policy if you consider what He did to the Israelites in the Old Testament.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcaNRX_wl6k

Okay...we will not discuss the hideousness of Hagee's suit jacket, but, his reference to Alexander Haig and the famous quote of being in charge is NOT from the 9/11 tragedy. It is from the March 30, 1981 assassination attempt of President Ronald Reagan.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptrnH00J0Wk

What the heck is this fuck-tard talking about? Why is he trying to use world tragedies to try to validate his stupid and ridiculous agenda and vicious God? Oooooohhhhh!!! GOD has a MIGHTY plan and it involves the deaths of MILLIONS of people with SIX MILLION of the dead HIS OWN PEOPLE. NICE.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ec-kZGKnQ8

Again, Mr. Hagee, you are trying to define government and what government should be and needs to be according to a fantasy-riddled religious document. Step off, Mr. Hagee. Your imaginary God does NOT run this country. Some people like you think so, but that does not make it truth. The longer we can keep religious loonies like you and your pals OUT of politics the better.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnXFJCjJ06U

Like many others in the muck that results when you mix religion and politics Hagee makes absurdly stupid claims. Never mind the full extent of the political ramifications of what he says here...I only want to comment on one thing: God's treatment of HIS chosen people. Hagee can say all he wants that Israel has this great and grand connection to some great divine being somewhere in the great yonder, but in case Hagee has not peeked into the Old Testament and into the actual historical records of the 'chosen people' of God...this great supreme being has totally and completely treated HIS people with contempt and cruelty and not only that, but this great divine being has done this CONSISTENTLY. And you worry about other nations turning their backs on Israel?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPqs4GCszSw

So, what you are saying is that BEFORE there were even people on the earth this great God of yours decided that His great 'plan' for mankind would include a day and minute and hour and all that happy horseshit where God would KILL one third of the population of mankind? You don't think that is likely to get you a bunch of converts, do you? In fact, it might get a few to collect their brains and to leave your precious little flock. You are a sicko. Your God is a sicko. Your Bible is also totally sicko.

Oral Roberts

Some Things Never Change

You gotta give it to the evangelists...because they are so wonderfully entertaining. This guy, Oral Roberts, is right up there with the rest of the evangelists that always find a way to taint the message of Jesus, although not irreparably. There are always more assholes in the world ready and willing to follow these guys no matter what they have done.

Geeze! This is pretty funny, especially the part where the guy has a dream about a 900 foot tall Jesus. This asshole even claims to have raised a child from the dead. You know, you would think that if someone is going to lie that they would at least make it believable.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jtk2hQrPO9s

You would be hard pressed to find very many evangelicals who have NOT rocked their organization with some scandal or other.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKCenNc0pMs

Don't even try to pretend that you are shocked. I wonder if he told the cops he had been drinking the blood of Jesus? I mean, wine IS used as the blood of Jesus so you figure His Holiness has, what, 10% proof alcohol minimum?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=bH7fpBYP2Ns&NR=1

Good Lord! I have heard of stupid criminals...I think we all have...but how can these people be this dumb? Who misappropriates funds and then saves the proof on the computer and THEN loans that computer to someone? You would think that with their level of education they would at least give their crimes better thought. Hah! And they ALWAYS have something to say about the REAL truth.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JnG6rjVEvE

Deliciously hilarious. And this guy is right, it IS people like Oral Roberts who fuck up religion and abuse the faith of those who blindly follow.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqH9qQlIRYg

Oh, good gracious. These preachers really need to get a new trick because they have most certainly played this particular game for far too long. People HAVE caught on. Then again, maybe the right people are not catching on. Get the religiously misled to catch on and you might actually get somewhere.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tw7UvFu8ns

Well, it is apparent that there is no shortage of Oral Roberts fans.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpELE9cGWeE

So...Oral Roberts has received a message from God about five things that were to SHORTLY come to pass. Remember, this was in the early fifties. What were these prophecies? Well lets take a peek: man cannot and will not destroy himself in that period of time (1950s). God was going to limit atomic weapons. There was going to be a visitation of man by angels. There was going to be a flood of supernatural events and evidence of supernatural powers. Mass miracle healing would begin taking place...this guy just goes on and on and on.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX8tgfVzbvs

Holy crap. This is beyond creepy.
